Fire Prevention Week is October 8 through October 14

The Melbourne Fire Department is committed to responding to community needs by providing for the protection of life and property through innovative emergency medical care, fire suppression and hazard mitigation services. All stations are licensed in advanced life support and are staffed by paramedics. The Code Compliance Division is responsible for public education, building inspections and fire investigations. Personnel also aid in community disaster relief.

Melbourne participates in the Brevard County Mutual Aid program, enabling us to draw on resources throughout the county when a major incident occurs or when Melbourne personnel are committed to multiple incidents. We also participate in the Statewide Emergency Response agreement.
